The entire property needed to be retrofitted with all new infrastructure.
Dojo Networks Solution
We built an on property 10Gb fiber distribution system connecting every building back to the clubhouse via fiber. We connected the property back to our distribution network with dual fiber paths each running at 10Gb for redundancy. We installed an equipment rack in the clubhouse and then installed an outdoor equipment box on the end of each building with the existing cable/telco equipment. Each apartment had a cat5e home run done back to the equipment box. The switch gear used are gigabit Cisco switches and each equipment cabinet has a managed UPS for power management and notification.
This property was installed a few years ago prior to property-wide WiFi becoming as stable as it is today. Due to timing and the budget this property was installed as a BYOR (Bring your own router). So residents either need to provide their own router or they can rent a supported router from Dojo Networks. We can support the router and all devices behind the router when it is rented from us. We stock routers with the on-site property management office so that residents can pick them up on site. The property is ready to go for an upgrade to managed WiFi when the property is ready as we will just need to install Ruckus Access Points and Ruckus POE Switches.
The Results
The property and their residents are very happy with the internet service and how it works for their residents.
